What is a Gar?

What is a gar is a common question.A gar is a primitive freshwater fish that has been around for a very long time. There are seven basic breeds. They are usually medium-large sized. (3-10 ft). They are ver popular as  sporting fish. They are also talented hunters. They have a long snout called a rostrum, and diamond-shaped scales. They  have very sharp teeth. They lay poisonous eggs called roe. Due to gars bony body and strong interlocking scales, gars barely have any predators. In fact, humans and occasionally alligators are some of the only known gar predators. Due to the extremely vascular air bladder that is connected to its throat, the gar may survive in hot, dead waters that may not even have enough oxygen for most other species of fish. There are 7 kinds of gars: the Florida Gar, the Alligator Gar, the Cuban Gar, the Longnose Gar, the Shortnose Gar, the Tropical Gar, and the Spotted Gar.
